The Role of Senior AI Engineer

Qanoniah is expanding its AI team and seeking a Senior AI Engineer to contribute to scaling the next generation of its AI Legal Assistant. This full-time position, located in Makkah, involves shipping production features powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), Agents, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to top-tier Saudi clients. The role focuses on Arabic legal intelligence, requiring 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deploy end-to-end AI features utilizing LLMs and agentic workflows.
• Develop multi-agent systems incorporating tool use, planning, and autonomous task execution.
• Design and optimize retrieval pipelines specifically for Arabic legal content, including full-text search, vector search, and re-ranking.
• Fine-tune and benchmark foundation models such as Qwen, OSS, and GLM for legal applications.
• Integrate custom tools, skills, and Multi-Context Providers (MCPs) into agent workflows.
• Ensure production quality across accuracy, latency, cost, and safety metrics.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in deploying production AI systems, beyond prototypes or Jupyter notebooks.
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern AI frameworks (*, PyTorch, Hugging Face, vLLM, SGLang, TensorRT).
• Hands-on experience with agent patterns (ReAct, tool use, multi-agent) and relevant agent and provider SDKs.
• Solid experience with retrieval methods and vector databases (*, Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, FAISS).
• Familiarity with fine-tuning techniques (LoRA, QLoRA), cloud AI services (*, AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, GCP), and MLOps fundamentals.
• Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to Makkah.
