About Midana Exploration Company

Midana Exploration Company (MEC) is a resource exploration and development company and a subsidiary of Hancock Prospecting, Australia’s leading private mining enterprise. MEC operates within the Middle East’s mining sector, focusing on the mineral potential of the Arabian-Nubian Shield. The company aims to transition high-potential exploration targets into operational mining assets by combining Hancock Prospecting’s expertise with local partnerships and joint ventures with Saudi resource companies.

Role Summary

The Vice President Finance and Administration is a senior executive role accountable for the effective delivery of finance and commercial (CFO), procurement, HR, legal, corporate governance, government compliance reporting, and office administration functions within Midana Exploration Company and related KSA entities. This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and supports the rapid establishment of exploration and operating mining assets in KSA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Finance & Commercial: Direct and oversee all finance and commercial functions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the MEC Board and related KSA entities. Manage the MEC treasury function and, in coordination with the VP Studies and Projects, develop and manage the consolidated operating and capital budget.
  • Human Resources: Oversee HR functions for all KSA entities, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, leave, travel, immigration, employee benefits, and visa management. Establish policies to attract and retain talent, manage Saudization obligations, and ensure the organizational structure aligns with company growth. Develop frameworks for performance management, leadership development, succession planning, compensation, and benefits.
  • Commercial & Procurement: Develop and oversee MEC’s procurement function, including policies and procedures to optimize value for goods and services. Coordinate with the VP Studies and Projects to establish frameworks for supplier and contractor qualification, evaluation, and management, promoting local content and ensuring compliance. Provide commercial support, including tendering and contracting.
  • Legal and Corporate Governance: Lead the development and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and corporate governance frameworks. Provide legal and strategic advice to the CEO, Board, and Committees on investments, joint ventures, material transactions, and project development, utilizing external KSA legal expertise as needed. Ensure efficient management of statutory reporting and corporate governance commitments.
  • Administration: Ensure the efficient and effective management of MEC’s administration function, including office, travel, and vehicle logistics.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 15-20 years of leadership experience in financial and corporate governance in KSA, with extensive experience in the mining industry.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing and delivering timely and accurate corporate and financial reports to government and company Boards.
  • Substantial experience in managing relationships with Government entities.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing multi-disciplinary financial, commercial, HR, and legal teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of KSA's mining, corporate governance, and financial reporting regulations.

Work Location and Travel

This role is primarily based in the Midana Exploration Company’s office in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Business travel is expected to Riyadh, other Joint Venture offices throughout the Kingdom, and to Hancock Prospecting offices in Australia as required.
