About the Role

Virtucruit is collaborating with a prominent mining company in Saudi Arabia to recruit a Technical Support Specialist for their Drilling Department. This full-time position is based in Najran and requires 2-5 years of experience in technical support.

Role Purpose and Context

The Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for providing essential technical support, troubleshooting, and resolving operational issues related to drilling systems, equipment, and technologies. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth drilling operations and minimizing downtime within a demanding mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to drilling and site personnel.
• Install and configure hardware and software systems.
• Troubleshoot IT equipment, network, and system issues.
• Support field data collection devices and systems.
• Maintain IT equipment inventory and asset tracking.
• Respond promptly to user service requests.
• Ensure systems are updated and properly maintained.
• Monitor network performance and connectivity.
• Assist in the setup of site communication systems.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity measures.
• Maintain documentation of IT systems and issues.
• Support remote sites with connectivity solutions.
• Install upgrades and patches as required.
• Provide user training on IT systems.
• Assist in backup and data recovery processes.
• Coordinate with vendors for technical support.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
• Maintain helpdesk records and issue logs.
• Support continuous improvement of IT services.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in IT or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of technical support experience.

Required Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of hardware, software, and networking principles.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Basic English communication skills.
