About the Mechanical Supervisor Role
Acwa is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor for a full-time position in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves overseeing and executing maintenance activities for plant mechanical equipment under the guidance of the Maintenance Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance, monthly/annual outages, and overhauling work on plant mechanical equipment.
- Assign maintenance jobs as directed by the Maintenance Engineer and oversee the activities of maintenance staff.
- Process work orders through CMMS (SAP) and liaise with the Maintenance Engineer on job completion and technical aspects.
- Maintain open communication channels to report on action items and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
- Assist the Maintenance Engineer in executing corrective and planned maintenance, aligning with the annual maintenance schedule.
- Maintain comprehensive logs, records, and files for all assigned area equipment, including history and spare parts inventory.
- Prepare purchase requisitions for spare parts and consumables, ensuring adherence to budget constraints and strategic spare parts availability.
- Develop a thorough understanding of plant processes and systems to effectively troubleshoot and lead the maintenance team in issue resolution.
- Supervise, direct, and coordinate all personnel assigned to the area of responsibility.
- Identify competency gaps within subordinate personnel and implement appropriate actions.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for reporting employees.
- Provide on-the-job training to new employees and assess their performance during the training period.
- Identify and control hazards within the assigned work area.
- Ensure adherence to monitored aspects and operational controls.
- Report deviations within the Integrated Management System.
- Report emergencies, incidents, and near misses.
- Ensure effective utilization of resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 4 years of related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environment Management system principles.
- Knowledge of applicable legal requirements.
- Proficiency in Hazard Risk assessment.
- Proficiency in Aspect Impact assessment.
- Knowledge of waste identification, classification, and disposal.
- Knowledge of Emission Monitoring.
- Ability to lead a maintenance group effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to use SAP as an end-user.
Work Environment
This role involves working near moving mechanical parts and in various outdoor weather conditions. There may be occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or chemical risks, and electrical shock in high precarious places. The typical noise level in the work environment is moderate, though very loud conditions may exist.
