The Role of Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic

Alsalam Aerospace Industries is seeking an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves performing comprehensive maintenance, repair, and servicing activities for aircraft airframes and powerplants, along with related support equipment. The mechanic will work under the management of the organization and report directly to the Site Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft airframe and powerplant repair, maintenance, servicing, and related support equipment activities.
  • Determine airframe and powerplant maintenance requirements, including inspection of parts, tolerances, fuel leaks, corrosion, tire wear, skin damage, cracks, and aircraft system performance.
  • Utilize wiring diagrams, blueprints, technical publications, and applicable technical orders to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues across various aircraft systems, including rotor heads, landing gear, engines, instrumentation, and hydraulic systems.
  • Assist with aircraft weight and balance activities in accordance with approved procedures and directives.
  • Position aircraft through jacking and towing operations to facilitate airframe and powerplant maintenance.
  • Ensure timely sampling of aircraft engine oil and fuel in accordance with the applicable Spectrometric Oil Analysis Program (SOAP).
  • Troubleshoot airframe and powerplant maintenance problems and analyze equipment operating characteristics to identify sources of malfunction.
  • Interpret and apply airframe and powerplant maintenance and installation policies, procedures, technical publications, and applicable directives.
  • Maintain and calibrate airframe and powerplant system test equipment and conduct detailed testing of repaired equipment.
  • Determine requirements for airframe and powerplant maintenance equipment, tools, spare parts, and other necessary resources.
  • Supervise airframe and powerplant maintenance personnel and plan, coordinate, and schedule work assignments.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel are familiar with and comply with applicable maintenance management directives, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain and control airframe and powerplant technical orders, maintenance records, training documentation, and applicable forms.
  • Evaluate the performance of maintenance specialists to ensure compliance with applicable policies, preventive maintenance directives, technical orders, and established standards.
  • Conduct on-the-job training as part of the Train-the-Trainer program, providing practical training to personnel through scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in airframe and powerplant maintenance is required.
  • Proficiency in utilizing wiring diagrams, blueprints, technical publications, and applicable technical orders.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance issues.
  • Experience in supervising maintenance personnel and managing work assignments.
  • Ability to conduct on-the-job training effectively.
