About the Role

Unified Real Estate Development Company is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time individual contributor position involves designing and building central data infrastructure, integrating frontier Large Language Models (LLMs), and developing internal tools. The primary objective is to enable AI-powered analysis for non-technical staff, focusing on the implementation and integration of existing models rather than machine learning research or pure data engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build central data infrastructure, such as ClickHouse or a data lake, to aggregate data from property management, leasing, finance, and operations systems.
• Integrate frontier LLMs (*, Claude, GPT-4) via API to serve as the reasoning and analysis layer over internal data.
• Build and maintain retrieval pipelines for intelligent selection, filtering, and delivery of relevant data to LLMs within context window constraints.
• Develop internal tools, dashboards, or interfaces that facilitate interaction with AI-powered analysis for non-technical staff.
• Implement data security, access controls, and compliance protocols to ensure appropriate handling of sensitive real estate and tenant data.
• Architect systems with modularity, allowing for swappable LLM providers, data sources, and tools as the technological landscape evolves.
• Monitor AI output quality and establish validation/feedback loops to mitigate hallucinations and errors.
• Stay informed on AI developments and proactively recommend new capabilities relevant to Unified’s operations.
• Document all systems, architectures, and processes thoroughly to minimize bus-factor risk.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Python.
• Hands-on experience building applications that integrate with LLM APIs (*, Anthropic, OpenAI).
• Practical knowledge of data engineering, including ETL pipelines, SQL, and working with structured and semi-structured data at scale.
• Experience with at least one analytical database such as ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
• Understanding of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns, vector databases, and context management strategies.
• Familiarity with orchestration frameworks (*, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom equivalents).
• Ability to deploy and maintain production services, including Docker, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD basics.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical constraints and trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in real estate, property management, or construction technology.
• Exposure to agent-based AI workflows and multi-step task orchestration.
• Experience with data visualization tools or building internal dashboards (*, Streamlit, Retool).
• Familiarity with Arabic language NLP or bilingual data environments.
• Previous experience working in small teams or startup-like environments with end-to-end project ownership.

Role Scope and Focus

This position is an individual contributor role with high autonomy and direct impact. It is specifically focused on implementing and integrating existing frontier models, not on machine learning research or model training/fine-tuning. While it involves building data infrastructure, the primary goal is to power AI applications, not solely to maintain databases. This is not a management position.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh. The Artificial Intelligence Engineer will participate in weekly rotating meetings with various departments, including leasing, property management, finance, and operations, alongside an AI Analyst. These meetings aim to understand business needs and demonstrate progress. The work environment emphasizes a fast iteration cycle, with an expectation for working prototypes over lengthy planning phases.
