Job Description
About the Role
King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking an Assistant Consultant, Anesthesiology. This full-time position involves assisting in providing medical care within the Anesthesiology department and supervising interns and residents. The role operates in accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Assist the Consultant in providing patient care and management in Anesthesiology, adhering to hospital medical care standards.
- Deliver high-quality patient care across all aspects of Anesthesiology, consistent with approved clinical privileges.
- Provide timely consultations for inpatients and emergency room cases, responding within prescribed timeframes as per hospital policy.
- Ensure timely completion, accuracy, and legibility of medical records.
- Provide on-call service, ensuring availability and response within hospital policy timeframes.
- Conduct daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge and ensure discharge orders are written 24 hours prior to discharge.
- Perform other assigned clinical responsibilities related to the specialty.
Academic and Research Contributions
- Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows as assigned.
- Participate in departmental educational activities, training programs, and national and international medical conferences.
- Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and fulfill continuing education requirements.
- Contribute to clinical, basic, and translational research projects in accordance with Research Advisory Council Policy to advance knowledge and improve postgraduate education.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Undertake administrative duties assigned by the Head of Section or Chairman.
- Participate in mandatory departmental activities and serve on Departmental and Hospital committees as required.
- Assist the department in developing and implementing techniques to maximize resource utilization.
- Adhere to current Hospital and medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and policies, staying updated on any changes.
- Follow all hospital-related policies and procedures.
- Participate in self and others’ education, training, and development.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in Anesthesiology. Specific qualifications will align with the requirements for an Assistant Consultant role within a hospital setting.
