The Assurance Practice
The Middle East Assurance practice comprises over 2,300 professionals across 12 countries, operating as part of PwC's global network. This practice integrates human-led and tech-powered solutions to deliver quality audits and risk services, aiming to build confidence and impact across the region and society. Core Assurance, a cornerstone of the practice, focuses on high-quality audits to build trust and drive sustained outcomes. Teams apply technical expertise and digital tools to provide independent assurance over financial reporting, assisting clients in meeting regulatory requirements and enhancing transparency.
Role Overview: Assurance External Audit Manager / Senior Manager (FS)
PwC Middle East is seeking an Assurance External Audit Manager / Senior Manager (FS) for a full-time position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves managing a portfolio of iconic clients and overseeing the complete audit cycle. The successful candidate will work within a team dedicated to resolving complex business issues, from strategy development to execution. The position requires 5-10 years of experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively assist in managing a client portfolio, including day-to-day client liaison and technical issue management.
- Lead business development activities to identify and research opportunities with new and existing clients, fostering strong client relationships.
- Develop strategies to address complex technical challenges and contribute to the technical development of the team.
- Manage and deliver large projects, ensuring adherence to key deadlines.
- Design audit strategies and manage audit execution in line with engagement leader guidance. Advise clients on financial reporting and regulatory developments, staying current with changes through internal and external seminars.
- Manage client relations with senior management, including delivering presentations to boards of directors and audit committees.
- Ensure compliance with risk, quality, and independence standards.
- Stay informed on local and national business and economic issues.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members, while also supporting their well-being.
- Encourage involvement in digital initiatives, the use of audit transformation technologies, and alternative delivery models to align with the firm's vision and enhance audit robustness.
- Participate in the recruitment process, including interviewing and selecting candidates according to PwC hiring standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in applying International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) to external audits of financial services, with strong IFRS knowledge relevant to the FS practice (*, IFRS9, IFRS17) and financial services regulations.
- Strong project management skills and experience managing audits from planning to completion.
- Ability to challenge self and others to ensure high-quality testing and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and nurture positive relationships internally and externally.
- Capability to drive innovative thinking and support others through change and uncertainty.
- Experience fostering a collaborative team environment that encourages constructive challenge and prompt resolution of team issues.
- Commitment to the Audit profession and continuous self-development, including agility and innovation in the digital sphere.
