Backup & Storage Administrator

About the Role

Nahil Computers, a leading IT system integrator in Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Backup & Storage Administrator. This full-time position is for an enterprise project within the financial sector, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves managing and maintaining critical backup and storage infrastructure to ensure data integrity and availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer enterprise backup platforms, including managing policies, schedules, and retention, along with daily job monitoring and failure resolution.
• Perform regular test restores and participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) drills and DR documentation.
• Manage Dell EMC storage systems, covering LUN/volume provisioning, snapshots, replication, firmware updates, and health checks.
• Manage the SAN fabric, including zoning and Brocade switch maintenance.
• Track storage and backup capacity and produce monthly capacity and performance reports.
• Handle incidents, service requests, and changes in accordance with ITIL principles and client Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Collaborate with Dell and other vendors on support cases, upgrades, and patching activities.
• Apply security controls such as encryption, immutable/air-gapped copies, and access reviews, and support audits (SAMA, NCA).
• Maintain runbooks, diagrams, and asset inventory, and participate in an on-call rotation schedule.

Qualifications and Experience

• Approximately 10 years of hands-on backup and storage experience.
• Strong skills in at least one of the following platforms: Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, or Dell NetWorker/Data Domain.
• Experience with Dell EMC storage and data protection (PowerMax, PowerStore, Unity, Data Domain, NetWorker/PowerProtect) is a significant advantage.
• SAN switching experience is beneficial.
• Experience within the banking or financial sector is a plus.
• Vendor certifications are considered an advantage.
• Candidates must currently be based in Saudi Arabia.
