BIM Specialist

About the Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a BIM Specialist to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves supporting the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and standards across projects, ensuring compliance, and coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of BIM processes and standards across projects.
• Develop, coordinate, review, and maintain multidisciplinary BIM models, ensuring compliance with approved BIM Execution Plans (BEP), EIR, and project standards.
• Perform multidisciplinary model federation and clash detection, managing reports and coordinating resolutions with relevant disciplines.
• Coordinate with Design Consultants, Contractors, and Engineering teams to resolve BIM-related issues.
• Support the development and maintenance of BIM workflows, standards, templates, libraries, and project content.
• Maintain model naming conventions, coordinates, levels, grids, classifications, parameters, and model structures.
• Support BIM model audits, quality assurance activities, and monitor Level of Development / Level of Information requirements.
• Provide BIM technical support to engineering and construction teams, including model-based design reviews and coordination workshops.

Specialized BIM Coordination and Quality Assurance

• Manage BIM coordination for complex airport environments, including terminals, airfield facilities, infrastructure, roads, and utilities.
• Support multidisciplinary BIM coordination between architectural, structural, MEP, civil, infrastructure, and specialist aviation systems.
• Federate discipline models into coordinated project models and conduct clash detection using approved BIM coordination platforms.
• Categorize clashes, assign actions to responsible disciplines, and track resolution and verification of closure.
• Conduct regular BIM model audits, verifying compliance with BIM standards and project requirements.
• Review model geometry, data, naming, parameters, coordinates, and file structure to ensure quality and suitability for downstream construction and asset management use.

BIM for Construction and Digital Handover

• Support site teams through BIM-based construction coordination, providing coordinated models for planning and execution.
• Identify constructability issues through model reviews and coordinate temporary and permanent works within BIM environments.
• Support integration of construction sequencing and installation requirements into BIM models, including 4D schedule integration where applicable.
• Support the development of BIM deliverables required for commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate as-built BIM models with Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, and Asset Management teams.
• Ensure asset information is complete, accurate, and aligned with project information requirements, supporting integration with CAFM / IWMS / Asset Management systems.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, BIM, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in BIM coordination, BIM management, digital engineering, or multidisciplinary BIM delivery.
• Strong experience working on major construction, infrastructure, or airport projects.
• Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models throughout design and construction phases.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent BIM platforms.
• Experience with BIM coordination, clash detection, model auditing, and information management.
• Experience with airport / airfield BIM projects is highly desirable.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong understanding of BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Employer's Information Requirements (EIR), Common Data Environments (CDE), model standards, and information delivery requirements.
• Knowledge of ISO 19650 and BIM information management principles is preferred.
• Experience with 4D / 5D BIM is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering and construction interfaces.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
