Business Process Manager

About the Role

TMC Middle East is seeking a Business Process Manager for a contract position based in Riyadh. This role focuses on operational excellence, digital transformation, and regulatory compliance within financial institutions in the Saudi Arabian banking sector. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct end-to-end process discovery and analysis across multiple functions, teams, and systems.
• Establish As-Is processes using workshops, observation, transaction samples, data, system behavior, and procedures.
• Identify process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, rework, manual activities, control weaknesses, exceptions, and unclear ownership.
• Perform structured root-cause analysis to distinguish symptoms from underlying process, control, data, organization, or technology issues.
• Design practical To-Be processes that improve efficiency, control, accountability, and business outcomes.
• Design or improve preventive and detective controls, reconciliations, exception handling, approvals, and auditability within business processes.
• Assess Excel/manual activities and determine appropriate actions such as elimination, simplification, standardization, control, or automation.
• Collaborate with Business, Operations, Risk, and Technology teams to understand process operations across applications, workflows, business rules, integrations, data, and batch activities.
• Translate process findings into clear business requirements and implementable improvement actions.
• Identify opportunities for workflow automation, digitalization, and better use of existing systems.
• Define process KPIs and baselines, and measure the effectiveness of implemented changes.
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops, constructively challenge assumptions, and drive stakeholders toward clear decisions.
• Support transformation initiatives from assessment and process redesign through implementation and benefits validation.
• Work in a rolling transformation environment where improvements are implemented while assessment continues in other areas.

Required Experience and Skills

• 5-10 years of hands-on experience in business process management.
• Direct Asset Management experience is highly desirable, including exposure to fund administration, NAV, fees, reconciliations, investment performance, client reporting, portfolio operations, investment servicing, or operational controls.
• Comfortable working with technical teams to understand processes embedded within system workflows, business rules, data flows, interfaces/APIs, database/status information, batch processes, system controls, and exception handling.

Methodologies

Practical experience with relevant methodologies such as BPM/BPMN, Lean, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, SIPOC, BPR, Process Mining, and Continuous Improvement is desirable. While certifications are beneficial, demonstrated practical application and results are prioritized.

The ideal candidate can navigate complex financial-services operations, uncover how processes function across people and systems, use evidence and data for root cause identification, redesign processes and controls, translate changes into implementable requirements, and remain involved until improvements are operational and measurable.
