Chief Accountant

About the Role

Talaat Moustafa Group Saudi is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead the accounting operations for its real estate portfolio in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and supporting strategic financial decision-making within the company. The Chief Accountant will oversee financial activities across property management, development projects, investments, and corporate operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and monthly/annual closing processes.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards, real estate accounting practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise and guide the accounting team, reviewing their work to ensure the accuracy and quality of financial records.
• Manage accounting activities related to property portfolios, rental income, service charges, construction projects, and investment entities.
• Review and approve journal entries, invoices, payment vouchers, and financial adjustments.
• Monitor project budgets, development costs, and variances, preparing detailed financial analysis for management.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, VAT/tax requirements, and relevant financial regulations.
• Coordinate with external auditors and ensure the timely completion of audit processes.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and financial reports to support management decisions and strategic planning.
• Review contracts, lease agreements, and vendor payments to ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency, controls, and financial accuracy.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in accounting, with strong knowledge of real estate accounting, project costing, and property management financials.
• Proficiency in SAP and other ERP/accounting systems, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with real estate accounting or property management systems is preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of VAT regulations and the audit process.
