Commodity Trader

About the Role

Converge is seeking a Commodity Trader to join their client, a leading food and FMCG group, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires solid experience in agricultural commodities and a strong understanding of global commodity markets. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, contributing to key commercial decisions within a growing food and FMCG business.

Role Contribution

The Commodity Trader will apply expertise in commodity markets to support strategic sourcing and business decisions across the MEA region. This position involves active participation in market analysis and relationship building to identify and secure sourcing opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitoring commodity prices to identify market trends.
• Identifying and evaluating sourcing opportunities for agricultural commodities.
• Building and maintaining relationships with traders, suppliers, and brokers.
• Analysing global market developments and supply-demand trends to provide insights that support procurement decisions, cost management, and business strategy.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5–10 years of hands-on experience in agricultural commodity trading.
• An MBA is mandatory, alongside a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Solid knowledge of agricultural commodities, particularly edible oils, grains, dairy commodities, or animal feed.
• Established relationships with commodity traders, brokers, suppliers, and market participants.
• Must be willing to relocate to Riyadh and travel across the MEA region as required.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of commodity pricing, global supply and demand dynamics, and market forecasting.
• Excellent analytical skills, commercial judgement, and financial modelling capabilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; Power BI knowledge is an advantage.
