About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Consultant - Adult Endocrinology to provide comprehensive medical care to adult patients. This full-time role, based in Riyadh, involves expert clinical care in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of endocrine conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal diseases, and metabolic syndromes. The Consultant will contribute to improving patient outcomes through efficient and effective healthcare delivery, both in physical and telemedicine settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and accurate diagnoses of endocrine disorders, utilizing detailed patient histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic tools such as blood tests, imaging studies, and endocrine function tests.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to evaluate and interpret biochemical results relevant to endocrine disorders.
• Perform comprehensive telehealth consultations via thorough patient history and physical examinations for internal and general medicine complaints.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide ongoing patient education.
• Oversee ongoing care for chronic and acute conditions, adjusting treatment plans based on patient feedback and clinical outcomes.
• Document findings and treatment plans meticulously in patient records.

Clinical Quality and Patient Safety

• Ensure the delivery of high-quality and safe clinical care, adhering to clinical guidelines and best practices established by professional organizations in endocrinology.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives, including audits and peer reviews, to assess clinical practices.
• Implement safety protocols to minimize risks and complications associated with endocrine treatments.
• Maintain compliance with all patient safety standards and report any patient safety risks or issues to the appropriate quality department staff.
• Explain medications, possible side effects, and proper use to patients.
• Ensure satisfactory patient consultations through effective communication, empathy, and clear explanation of diagnosis and management plans.

Collaboration and Population Health Management

• Foster effective collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including primary care physicians, specialists, nurses, and allied health professionals, to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care.
• Engage in regular case discussions and attend departmental meetings to contribute to the development of clinical pathways and treatment protocols.
• Facilitate referrals to and from other specialties based on patient needs and complex cases.
• Practice population health management by identifying and addressing health issues at the community level, implementing preventive measures, and promoting health education and awareness.
