About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Consultant - Adult Endocrinology to provide specialized endocrinology care within the ICC physical clinic in Riyadh. This part-time, in-person role focuses on evaluating, diagnosing, and managing a broad range of hormonal and metabolic disorders, ensuring evidence-based, patient-centered care during scheduled clinic sessions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive, in-person endocrinology care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up for acute and chronic endocrine conditions.
  • Conduct clinical evaluations, including history taking, physical examination, and review of laboratory and imaging findings.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based management plans, including medication, insulin management, lifestyle interventions, and referrals.
  • Manage common endocrinology conditions such as type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, metabolic bone disease, and pituitary and adrenal disorders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams (dietetics, ophthalmology, podiatry) to deliver integrated care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to support continuity of care.
  • Promote metabolic and hormonal health through preventive counseling, diabetes screening, and chronic disease management.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers, providing clear guidance on diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate and complete medical documentation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based endocrinology practice through continuous professional development.
  • Contribute to clinical governance by participating in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and regulatory compliance programs.

Professional Development and EHR Proficiency

  • Continuously enhance clinical knowledge in endocrinology and best practices through conferences, workshops, and CME activities.
  • Integrate the latest clinical evidence into practice to improve patient care quality and safety.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the clinic's EHR system for efficient and well-documented consultations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and adopt system enhancements to optimize performance and user experience.

Patient Safety and Satisfaction

  • Uphold the highest standards of patient safety by adhering to established clinical safety protocols.
  • Identify, report, and escalate patient safety risks and incidents in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Counsel patients and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication use, and potential adverse effects.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered consultations through effective communication, empathy, and shared decision-making.

Collaboration with Healthcare Teams

  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care and optimize clinical outcomes.
  • Provide clinical expertise and recommendations to support evidence-based decision-making and integrated care planning.
  • Facilitate clear and timely communication among healthcare professionals to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Mentor and support junior physicians and healthcare professionals through clinical guidance and knowledge sharing.
