About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Riyadh is seeking a Consultant, Colorectal Surgery. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive medical care, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with medical diseases and conditions within the field of Colorectal Surgery. The role operates in strict adherence to current medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and the hospital’s established policies and procedures.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality patient care across all aspects of General Colorectal Surgery. The Consultant will ensure that all medical services provided meet the standards of medical care laid down by KFSH&RC, contributing to the hospital's commitment to excellence in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide required patient care and management in Colorectal Surgery, aligning with KFSH&RC standards.
• Offer consultation services (inpatient and emergency room) upon request, responding promptly within prescribed timeframes.
• Ensure timely completion, accuracy, and eligibility of medical records.
• Provide on-call service, maintaining availability and response times as per Hospital policy.
• Conduct daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge and ensure discharge orders are written 24 hours prior.
• Perform other clinical responsibilities related to the specialty as assigned.
• Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows.

Professional Development and Research

The Consultant is expected to actively participate in the department’s educational activities and training programs. This includes partaking in national and international medical conferences to maintain and enhance professional knowledge and meet continuing education requirements. Furthermore, the role involves participation in clinical, basic, and translational research projects in accordance with the Research Advisory Council Policy, aiming to advance knowledge, improve postgraduate education quality, and contribute to KFSH&RC's national and international recognition.

Qualifications and Experience

• Seven (7) years of training in a specialty or subspecialty.
• Postgraduate training experience must be equal to or exceed seven (7) years of experience in the subspecialty.
