About the Opportunity

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is seeking a dedicated Consultant, General & Upper GI Surgery to join its medical team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves providing specialized surgical care and contributing to the hospital's commitment to high-quality patient outcomes within a leading healthcare institution.

Role Summary

The Consultant is responsible for the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions within the field of General & Upper GI Surgery. This role requires the provision of expert medical care in strict accordance with current medical staff bylaws, established rules and regulations, and the Hospital’s policies and procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal clinical results.

Key Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care across all aspects of General & Upper GI Surgery, adhering strictly to approved clinical privileges.
• Deliver timely consultations to inpatients, outpatients, emergency room patients, and other patient areas upon request, responding within prescribed timeframes as outlined by Hospital policy.
• Ensure the timely completion, accuracy, and eligibility of all medical reports and documentation.
• Participate in on-call services, ensuring prompt availability and response within the prescribed timeframes in accordance with Hospital policy.
• Conduct daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge and ensure that discharge orders are processed within 24 hours prior to discharge.
• Perform any other clinical responsibilities related to General & Upper GI Surgery as assigned by the department head.

Professional Development and Education

• Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows as required.
• Actively participate in the Department’s educational activities and training programs.
• Engage in national and international medical conferences to stay abreast of advancements and best practices in the field.
• Maintain and enhance professional knowledge through continuous education requirements, ensuring compliance with professional standards.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this Consultant position are expected to possess between 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in General & Upper GI Surgery. A strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and strict adherence to medical protocols and ethical guidelines is essential for this role.
