About F5 and the Consultant III Role

As a Consultant III, you will serve as an innovative engineer, partnering with clients in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to advise on the effective use of F5 technology solutions. This full-time role involves guiding customers through the implementation and configuration of various F5 products to meet their business objectives and overcome technical challenges, requiring 5-10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance to customers, both onsite and remotely, regarding the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of F5 products.
  • Contribute to problem identification, systems architecture definition, solution design, implementation, testing, client training, deployment, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Maintain proficiency in F5 products and technologies through continuous self-directed and formal training.
  • Identify opportunities for additional products and services within customer organizations.
  • Recognize when technical assistance is required and initiate steps for quick response and resolution.
  • Manage basic engagement activities, including schedule monitoring, project status reporting, and expectation management for deliverables and associated risks.
  • Oversee customer interaction and engagement throughout assigned projects, escalating issues to management as needed.
  • Collaborate with various F5 teams, including Support, Product Sales, and Professional Services Sales.
  • Participate in sales and proposal presentations, alongside ongoing team account activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science/Arts degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with a focus on architecture and design of network or systems infrastructure, performance, and management.
  • At least 2 years of experience in customer-facing professional services consultant or engineer positions is preferred.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team of engineers and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently while also collaborating and sharing information.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technologies such as firewalling, application availability and security, web gateways, authentication/authorization, encryption, VPNs, and network architecture.
  • Ability to articulate and convey complex technical ideas to diverse audiences through both verbal and written communication.
  • Strong written communication, presentation writing, project scoping, and technical documentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of F5 ADC and industry-standard technologies including Firewalls, WAFs, Routing, Switching, and Multi-Tier Applications.
  • Thorough understanding of common networking concepts, including Ethernet, IP (IPv4 and IPv6), TCP, and UDP.
  • In-depth knowledge of the HTTP protocol and related technologies (HTML, XML, JSON, AJAX, JavaScript).
  • Working knowledge of Linux, UNIX, and Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of DNS tools and technologies (BIND, named).
  • Working knowledge of cryptographic concepts and implementations (OpenSSL, DNSSEC, SSL/TLS, PKI, IKE).
  • Working knowledge of AAA technologies (Active Directory, LDAP, NTLM, Kerberos, SAML, RADIUS, DIAMETER, TACACS).
  • Familiarity with VPN and tunneling technologies (IPsec, SSL, PPTP, GRE, MPLS).
  • Experience with web and application platforms such as IIS, Apache, WebSphere, WebLogic, or Oracle.
  • Scripting and development experience in areas like F5 iRules, Unix Shell, Perl, Python, C, C++, C#, Javascript, JSP, PHP, .NET, *****
  • In-depth, admin-level knowledge of Linux/UNIX (RHEL, CENTOS, SUSE, Solaris).
  • Proficiency in scripting using Groovy, Bash, Perl, or JavaScript.
  • Knowledge in at least one of the following web and application servers: Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic.
  • Knowledge of SQL and databases (Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL).
  • Deep understanding of advanced technical concepts in mobile networks, mobile architectures, routing, 3GPP, and LTE networks.

Certifications and Preferred Skills

  • CCNP, CCIE, or mid to high-level systems administration/security certifications are a plus.
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) is a strong plus.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent network and/or security projects is preferred.

Work Environment and Ethics

This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires engagement with multiple internal F5 teams and direct interaction with customers, serving as a key contributor to fostering positive relationships. The Consultant III is responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies. Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.
