About the Role
Bupa Arabia is seeking a Consultant Neurologist to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position focuses on delivering specialized neurological care and contributing to the development of neurology services within the CareConnect and Integrated Care Centres.
Clinical Responsibilities
The Consultant Neurologist will be responsible for comprehensive patient care, including:
- Conducting detailed neurological evaluations through history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic review.
- Diagnosing and managing a range of neurological conditions such as headache disorders, epilepsy, cerebrovascular diseases, movement disorders, neuropathies, demyelinating diseases, and neurodegenerative conditions.
- Interpreting laboratory, neuroimaging (MRI, CT), and electrophysiological (EEG, NCS/EMG) findings.
- Developing individualized, evidence-based treatment and follow-up plans.
- Ensuring accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record system.
- Escalating complex or high-risk cases to tertiary services or inpatient management as clinically required.
Clinical Leadership and Service Development
This role involves providing clinical leadership and contributing to the advancement of neurology services:
- Offering clinical leadership and professional guidance within the Neurology service line.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of clinical pathways, protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for neurological care.
- Supporting operational planning to ensure continuity of neurology service coverage across virtual and physical settings.
- Participating in strategic initiatives to enhance neurology services within CareConnect and Integrated Care Centres.
- Assisting in the evaluation and optimization of tele-neurology workflows and virtual care processes.
Quality, Safety, and Collaboration
Emphasis is placed on delivering high-quality, safe patient care and fostering collaboration:
- Ensuring the delivery of safe, patient-centered, high-quality neurological care aligned with best practice standards.
- Adhering to institutional clinical governance policies, neurological guidelines, and evidence-based medicine principles.
- Participating in quality assurance activities, clinical audits, and peer review initiatives.
- Reporting, investigating, and managing clinical incidents, near misses, and adverse events.
- Supporting compliance with accreditation requirements such as CBAHI and JCI.
- Collaborating effectively with internal medicine, emergency medicine, psychiatry, rehabilitation, and primary care services.
- Participating in Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) case discussions and care coordination.
- Maintaining timely and professional communication with referring physicians.
- Providing clinical guidance and education to healthcare providers.
- Coordinating patient care transitions and referrals to tertiary neurological services.
Patient Focus and Professional Development

- Promoting a culture of patient safety, empathy, and patient-centered neurological care.
- Educating patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication, and lifestyle modifications.

- Monitoring patient satisfaction feedback and contributing to service improvement initiatives.
- Maintaining active SCFHS professional licensure and complying with all regulatory and credentialing requirements.
- Participating regularly in Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities, professional conferences, and specialty development programs.
- Staying updated with advancements in neurology, clinical research, and emerging treatment modalities.
- Mentoring junior physicians and allied health staff.
- Contributing to departmental educational and academic development activities.
