Consultant Podiatry

About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Consultant Podiatry to provide specialized podiatry care on a part-time, in-person basis at its ICC physical clinic in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves addressing a broad range of foot and ankle conditions, delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care during scheduled clinic sessions, and ensuring continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive podiatry care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up for acute and chronic foot and ankle conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations, including history taking, biomechanical and gait assessment, and review of relevant imaging findings.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based management plans, including wound care, nail and skin procedures, orthotic prescription, and referrals.
• Manage common podiatry conditions such as diabetic foot complications, nail and skin conditions, plantar fasciitis, and biomechanical abnormalities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver integrated, patient-centered care.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to support seamless handover and continuity of care.
• Promote foot health through preventive counseling, diabetic foot screening, timely referral, and chronic disease management.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers, providing clear guidance on diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Ensure compliance with clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate and complete medical documentation.
• Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based podiatry practice and in-clinic regulations through continuous professional development.
• Contribute to clinical governance by participating in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and regulatory compliance programs.

Professional Development and EHR Proficiency

• Continuously enhance clinical knowledge in podiatry and best practices through participation in conferences, workshops, and CME activities.
• Integrate the latest clinical evidence into practice to improve the quality, safety, and effectiveness of patient care.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation in the EHR, demonstrating proficiency in the system.
• Participate in ongoing training and adopt system enhancements to optimize performance and user experience.

Patient Safety and Satisfaction

• Uphold the highest standards of patient safety by delivering safe, evidence-based care and adhering to established clinical safety protocols.
• Identify, report, and escalate patient safety risks, incidents, and quality concerns in accordance with organizational policies.
• Counsel patients and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication use, potential adverse effects, and follow-up care.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered consultations through effective communication, comprehensive clinical assessment, empathy, and shared decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience is required.
• Ability to coordinate closely with full-time clinical and administrative teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Strong commitment to value-based care principles to improve clinical outcomes and optimize healthcare resources.
