About the Role

Bank of Jordan (KSA) is seeking a Contracts & Legal Support Officer - Attorney to join its team in Riyadh, Riyadh Province. This full-time position is central to ensuring the bank's legal operations are robust, compliant, and efficiently managed. The role requires a professional dedicated to upholding legal and regulatory standards within the banking sector.

Role Purpose

The Contracts & Legal Support Officer is responsible for providing comprehensive legal assistance, primarily focusing on the meticulous drafting, organization, review, and auditing of various legal documents. This role also involves delivering informed legal opinions and ensuring strict adherence to both banking and broader regulatory standards applicable in Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, organize, review, and audit all contracts, agreements, memoranda, legal documents, and records as required, ensuring alignment with credit approval, collateral documentation (when applicable), or Bank account opening terms for client signature.
• Provide legal opinions or approvals related to the aforementioned documents.
• Obtain necessary documents or approvals from official and non-official entities.
• Review legal and regulatory matters pertaining to commercial registration, company licensing, amendments to articles of association, and the acquisition of certifications and approvals.
• Offer legal advice on contractual obligations and disputes involving clients or third parties.
• Stay updated on laws, regulations, circulars, and decisions issued in Saudi Arabia and relevant international standards, and communicate their impact effectively.
• Participate in meetings, conference calls, and workshops related to assigned legal matters.
• Perform any additional legal or administrative tasks as required, in line with applicable laws and professional ethics.
• Review and audit all external vendor contracts, agreements, memoranda, legal documents, and records, ensuring compliance with the bank's procurement policy.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (minimum requirement).
• Preferably holds higher qualifications in Law, Governance, or Compliance.
• Preferably meets licensing/registration requirements in Saudi Arabia, as applicable.
• 1-3 years of experience in banking-related legal tasks, gained either within a bank or a law firm.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong legal analysis and drafting skills.
• Solid knowledge of Saudi legal frameworks, including banking, commercial, corporate, labor, zakat, and tax laws.
• High proficiency in drafting and reviewing contracts and legal documents.
• Strong ability to prepare clear and concise legal memos and opinions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure while consistently maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism.
• Up-to-date knowledge of KSA Banking Laws and Central Bank regulations.
