Corporate Legal Manager (Saudi Talent)

About the Role

Daikin Saudi is seeking a Corporate Legal Manager (Saudi Talent) to be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role will serve as the primary legal business partner for Daikin Saudi Arabia, operating as part of the Daikin Europe Legal Team, which provides legal support across the EMEA region. The manager will provide comprehensive legal support to the business throughout Saudi Arabia and, as needed, the wider Middle East region.

Role Responsibilities

The Corporate Legal Manager will advise the business on a broad range of legal, regulatory, compliance, and corporate governance matters, supporting commercial objectives and ensuring effective management of legal risk. This role requires close collaboration with senior management, regional legal teams, and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts such as sales agreements, service contracts, turnkey agreements, supplier agreements, and partnership agreements.
• Providing legal advice to Sales, Procurement, and Marketing on contract terms, obligations, legal risks, and compliance.
• Ensuring all contracts comply with local and international laws, regulations, and Daikin's internal policies.
• Monitoring and advising on legal and regulatory changes in Saudi Arabia and other relevant jurisdictions.
• Assisting in the implementation and management of internal compliance programs and providing legal training on compliance, anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and corporate governance.
• Managing and overseeing legal disputes and litigation, collaborating with external counsel and reporting to Daikin Europe * on dispute status and strategy.
• Attending meetings with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and other external parties as required for legal support.
• Providing proactive legal advice to assess and mitigate legal risks, working with business leaders to resolve issues promptly.
• Assisting in the preparation of internal policies and procedures for legal risk management.
• Capturing and interpreting relevant legislation for Daikin's business activities in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East region.
• Collaborating with finance, procurement, sales, and operations teams to support business functions.
• Working with Daikin’s legal team members to ensure consistency in legal practices and alignment with company policies.

Leadership and Management

The Corporate Legal Manager will lead and further develop the local Legal Department. This includes providing direct leadership, coaching, and performance management to two direct reports, ensuring appropriate allocation of responsibilities and workload. The manager will also foster the professional development of team members and contribute to building a high-performing, business-oriented legal function.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess the following:

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience.
• Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive legal support across various business functions.
• Experience in managing legal risks and ensuring corporate governance and compliance.
• Proven leadership skills, including experience in managing and developing a legal team.
