About the Role

360Solutions is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cost Controller to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is crucial for tracking and monitoring project and operational costs, ensuring strict compliance with approved budgets. The role involves analyzing expenditures and financial deviations, and preparing periodic reports that empower management to make informed decisions, enhance spending efficiency, and ultimately reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor actual costs and compare them against approved budgets.
  • Prepare regular reports on expenditures and overall costs.
  • Track and analyze deviations between budgeted and actual costs, identifying underlying causes.
  • Review purchase requisitions, invoices, and expenses to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop forecasts for future costs to aid in strategic planning.
  • Ensure all costs are accurately recorded within the correct financial period, particularly for inventory and warehousing.
  • Oversee the receipt of all supplies, verifying them against purchase orders and received quantities.
  • Supervise the daily disbursement of materials from main warehouses to production areas based on approved production needs and orders.
  • Manage the return of unused materials from production areas at the end of each day, ensuring proper system recording.
  • Conduct periodic inventory counts for main warehouses and production areas, reconciling physical stock with system records and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure the accuracy of material balances and movements.
  • Record and track all instances of waste in warehouses and production areas.
  • Prepare detailed waste reports, including item, quantity, cost, location, and cause.
  • Analyze the root causes of waste, monitor its percentages periodically, and propose necessary measures for reduction.
  • Ensure all waste quantities are accurately recorded in the system, preventing undocumented waste.
  • Coordinate with the Head Chef to ensure all recipes are accurately entered into the system with correct quantities and weights.
  • Verify that the production team adheres to approved recipe quantities and weights, preventing excessive material usage beyond specified standards.
  • Periodically review recipes to ensure that the cost of each recipe in the system accurately reflects actual consumption.
  • Conduct regular in-kitchen tests to measure weights before and after defrosting, cleaning, preparation, and cooking processes.
  • Perform periodic tests and reviews to ensure the operational team's compliance with approved weights and quantities.
  • Investigate any abnormal discrepancies between expected and actual consumption.
  • Establish and ensure adherence to a periodic scale calibration schedule, with proper documentation.
  • Prevent the use of inaccurate scales or measuring tools that could impact quantities or product cost.
  • Monitor purchase orders, contracts, and any changes in material prices that could affect product costs.
  • Propose practical measures to reduce waste, optimize material utilization, and lower production costs without compromising product quality.

Required Experience

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in cost control or a similar financial role.

Essential Skills

  • Strong skills in cost and financial data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for report generation and analytical tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare periodic financial and cost reports.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills with financial management and operational departments.
  • Capability to prepare and monitor budgets and forecast costs.
