The Data Architect Role

Acuative is seeking a senior Data Architect to serve as a Data Strategy and Architecture Expert. This full-time role involves shaping the strategic direction and technical foundation of an enterprise data platform engagement. The Data Architect will lead the development of the client's data strategy, define the target Lakehouse architecture, and oversee the platform decisions that underpin the entire program, while ensuring alignment with national data governance and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the enterprise data strategy, roadmap, and value model.
• Conduct a BI readiness assessment and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Design the target Lakehouse architecture, including landing, raw, curated, and semantic layers.
• Define data integration patterns and standards for the platform.
• Oversee platform provisioning and own key technical architecture decisions.
• Ensure the architecture and data practices align with applicable regulatory and national frameworks (NDMO, SDAIA, NCA).
• Provide architectural guidance and quality assurance to the engineering and BI teams throughout delivery.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data strategy and data architecture roles.
• Proficiency with Lakehouse platforms such as Databricks, Azure Synapse, or Snowflake.
• Deep knowledge of NDMO regulations, SDAIA guidelines, and NCA cybersecurity controls.
• Demonstrated experience designing layered data architectures (landing, raw, curated, semantic).
• Strong background in data integration patterns, platform provisioning, and architecture governance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience advising executive stakeholders on data strategy and value realization.
• Relevant certifications (*, Databricks, Azure, AWS, Snowflake architecture certifications, TOGAF, DAMA CDMP).
• Prior experience on public-sector or regulated-industry data programs in the region.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, focusing on strategic data platform and business intelligence engagements.
