Data Center Facilities Manager

About the Role

ByteDance is seeking a Data Center Facilities Manager to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves managing the planning, construction, and operation of CoLocation Data Center infrastructure projects, ensuring stability and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Team Overview

The DataCenter Service / Datacenter Cloud System (DCS) team is an integral part of ByteDance's global technology structure. This team is responsible for building and operating hyper-scale data centers, managing server fleet lifecycles, providing cloud solutions, and developing various infrastructure services to support the company's rapid growth. The focus is on ensuring scalability and reliability of these critical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning and construction of CoLocation Data Center infrastructure projects, tracking progress and facilitating communication.
• Anticipate operational risks and oversee the testing, acceptance, and takeover of CoLocation Data Center infrastructure projects to ensure smooth delivery.
• Manage the operation of CoLocation Data Center infrastructure, focusing on stability, optimization, and overall data center management improvement.
• Own end-to-end change management for all high-risk data center maintenance activities to ensure uninterrupted facility operations.
• Moderate data center operations, including event reporting, fault tracking, and handling, to enhance service capabilities.
• Maintain collaborative partnerships with vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders to support seamless facility delivery.
• Conduct regular audits and performance reviews of CoLocation Data Center providers’ maintenance programs, collaborating to improve facility upkeep effectiveness.
• Support the DC Operations team as a Subject Matter Expert to understand and manage design limitations and risks.
• Supervise construction teams during Data Hall fit-outs, coordinating IT services, power system deployment, and cooling infrastructure implementation.
• Be available outside of normal business hours to respond to communications and coordinate the management of critical, high-priority facility incidents that may impact business operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in data center facilities management or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex infrastructure projects from planning to delivery.
• Experience with change management processes for critical facility maintenance.
• Strong understanding of data center operations, including event reporting and fault resolution.
• Proficiency in managing vendor relationships and internal stakeholder communications.
• Ability to conduct audits and performance reviews of maintenance programs.
• Expertise in IT services, power system deployment, and cooling infrastructure implementation during data hall fit-outs.
