Role Overview: Data Engineering Intern

SiFi is seeking a Data Engineering Intern to join its team in Riyadh. This internship offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in building and maintaining data pipelines and data models. The intern will collaborate with experienced engineers on initiatives related to data infrastructure, analytics, and AI/ML, supporting SiFi’s fintech products and business operations. This role is suitable for individuals with strong SQL fundamentals and an interest in cloud data platforms, data warehousing, and modern data engineering practices, with 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and maintenance of ETL/ELT pipelines for data collection, processing, and transformation.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data processing and analysis tasks.
• Support the design, development, and maintenance of data warehouses.
• Assist with data modeling, including fact tables, dimension tables, and slowly changing dimensions (SCD Type 2).
• Gain exposure to cloud data platforms, with a preference for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery.
• Work with data transformation tools such as dbt or SQLMesh.
• Support data quality checks, testing, monitoring, and pipeline observability.
• Assist in implementing CI/CD practices for data pipelines and models.
• Explore the deployment and maintenance of AI/ML data pipelines in production environments.
• Follow data governance, documentation, and best practices for reliable data management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Strong fundamentals in SQL.
• Interest in cloud data platforms, data warehousing, and modern data engineering practices.
• 0-1 years of experience.
