Role Overview

SiFi is seeking a Data Engineer Intern to join its team in Riyadh. This internship offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in building and maintaining reliable data pipelines and data models. The intern will collaborate with experienced engineers on data infrastructure, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives that support SiFi’s FinTech products and business operations. This role is suitable for individuals with strong SQL fundamentals and an interest in cloud data platforms, data warehousing, and modern data engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines for data collection, processing, and transformation.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data processing and analysis.
• Support data warehouse design, development, and maintenance.
• Assist with data modeling, including fact tables, dimension tables, and slowly changing dimensions (SCD Type 2).
• Gain exposure to cloud data platforms, with a preference for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery.
• Work with transformation tools such as dbt or SQLMesh.
• Support data quality checks, testing, monitoring, and pipeline observability.
• Assist in implementing CI/CD practices for data pipelines and models.
• Explore the deployment and maintenance of AI/ML data pipelines in production environments.
• Adhere to data governance, documentation, and best practices for reliable data management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and learning skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.

Experience Level

This internship is suitable for candidates with 0-1 years of experience.
