Design Manager Infrastructure & Masterplanning

About the Role

Sinopack Search is seeking a Senior Design Manager – Infrastructure & Masterplanning to join a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy in Riyadh. This full-time, client-facing position involves overseeing the design and delivery of complex infrastructure, masterplanning, and urban development projects. The role requires managing multidisciplinary teams and ensuring project delivery aligns with agreed programmes, budgets, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept through detailed design, tender, and construction support phases.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams across infrastructure, masterplanning, architecture, utilities, transport, landscape, and environment.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, authorities, consultants, and contractors.
• Develop and manage project programmes, deliverable schedules, resource plans, and design priorities.
• Monitor project progress against programme, budget, scope, and quality requirements.
• Lead design reviews, technical workshops, value engineering, and design optimisation efforts.
• Manage design interfaces across multiple disciplines and project packages.
• Identify and manage technical, commercial, programme, and resource risks.
• Oversee project reporting, governance, change control, and document control.
• Manage scope changes and variations, including their programme and commercial impact.
• Support project directors with financial performance and resource utilisation.
• Contribute to proposals, tenders, methodologies, and business development activities.
• Mentor project teams and foster effective multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
• Significant design management experience within a multidisciplinary consultancy.
• Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale infrastructure, masterplanning, or urban development projects.
• Experience managing projects across concept, detailed design, and tender stages.
• Strong client-facing, project management, and technical coordination skills.
• Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or the wider GCC region is highly beneficial.
• Experience with industrial cities, mixed-use developments, or major infrastructure programmes is a strong advantage.

Compensation

The salary for this position is up to SAR 45,000 per month.
