The Role: Director of Data

Hala is seeking a Director of Data to lead its enterprise data strategy and ecosystem. This full-time position, based in Riyadh, requires a strategic leader to drive data initiatives that align with business objectives and the company's digital transformation roadmap. The Director will be instrumental in establishing a modern, scalable, and secure data environment to support advanced analytics, AI, reporting, and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the enterprise data strategy, ensuring alignment with Hala's business objectives and digital transformation roadmap.
• Establish a modern, scalable, and secure data ecosystem to support analytics, AI, reporting, and operational decision-making.
• Lead and develop the Data Engineering, Business Intelligence (BI), Analytics, and Data Governance teams.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Ensure reliable data pipelines that integrate payment systems, merchant platforms, financial systems, CRM, and operational applications.
• Drive automation, scalability, availability, and performance of data infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the Engineering department to establish enterprise data architecture standards.
• Deliver executive dashboards and KPI reporting for senior management and Board Committees.
• Establish enterprise-wide data governance policies, standards, and ownership models.
• Define data quality controls, metadata management, master data management, and data lifecycle processes.
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity across all systems.
• Ensure data management practices comply with SAMA regulatory requirements, NCA Cybersecurity Controls, Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), and internal security and governance standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in data leadership and strategy. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in developing and implementing enterprise data strategies, managing data teams, and overseeing complex data infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance within the financial sector is essential.
