The Role of Director of FP&A

Foodics is seeking a Director of FP&A to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role is designed for a commercially minded, analytical, and technology-forward finance leader responsible for the company's FP&A agenda. This position extends beyond traditional budgeting and reporting, serving as a strategic partner to the CFO, CEO, and leadership team. The Director will translate performance into decisions, challenge assumptions, improve forecast quality, and build a scalable, AI-enabled FP&A function within a business operating at the intersection of SaaS, fintech, and payments.

Key Responsibilities

• Own annual budgeting, long-range planning, rolling forecasts, and reforecast cycles, ensuring clear full-year landing views and disciplined forecast accuracy.
• Lead monthly performance reviews across revenue, ARR, gross profit, margins, EBITDA, OPEX, cash flow, headcount, and key operating metrics.
• Translate results into concise executive insights, identifying changes, their causes, implications, and recommended management actions.
• Build driver-based financial models and base/upside/downside scenarios to support strategic and operating decisions.
• Act as a senior finance partner to Commercial, Product, Technology, Operations, and People teams, challenging assumptions and improving resource allocation.
• Strengthen OPEX, headcount, CAPEX, and strategic-investment governance, establishing clear ownership and accountability across the business.
• Evaluate pricing, new products, geographic expansion, partnerships, major commercial initiatives, and M&A opportunities through robust business cases and post-investment reviews.
• Upgrade FP&A systems, reporting, and automation to ensure the function scales with Foodics and reduces reliance on manual spreadsheet processes.
• Utilize Claude to accelerate performance analysis, scenario modeling, business cases, and management commentary.
• Interrogate large financial and operating datasets to identify drivers, anomalies, trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Create repeatable AI workflows or agents for recurring FP&A tasks and ad-hoc executive analysis.
• Combine Claude with Excel/Google Sheets, BI tools, SQL, planning systems, or other finance technology.
• Define where AI should automate work, where human judgment remains essential, and how outputs should be validated.

Candidate Profile

• 10-15+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, commercial finance, business finance, or strategic finance, with meaningful leadership responsibility.
• Mandatory professional qualification: active CMA certification or CFA charter.
• Demonstrated current and sophisticated use of Claude in day-to-day finance work; basic AI exposure is not sufficient.
• Direct partnership with senior executives and experience presenting to Executive Committee/Board audiences.

Industry Expertise and Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of both SaaS and Fintech industries, including recurring-revenue economics, retention, churn, unit economics, payments economics, margins, and the key operating drivers of technology-enabled financial services.
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency.
• BI, SQL, planning tool, and finance automation experience are highly desirable.
• 5+ years of sales experience in the SaaS/FinTech industry.
