Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to enhance projects and redefine ambition. This full-time position for a Director System Safety and Assurance is based in Riyadh, Riyadh, and offers an opportunity to work on one of Saudi Arabia's largest programs. This project involves major mixed-use development, including sports facilities, entertainment, arts, and associated infrastructure.

Role Overview

As a delivery partner, Mace requires experienced professionals to lead integrated teams throughout the project phases. The Director System Safety and Assurance will lead portfolio-wide safety assurance, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supply-chain partners. This involves embedding compliant strategies, managing key approvals, and supporting the safe delivery of an integrated, high-performing transport system from design through to operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement portfolio-wide safety assurance strategies, plans, processes, and tools to support statutory compliance and timely technical approvals.
• Define the safety assurance lifecycle, including Verification & Validation (V&V), safety risk, governance, evidence, and reporting, aligned with project needs and recognized standards.
• Ensure system safety risks are tolerable and As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP), with hazards, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM) targets, and operational requirements verified and validated before acceptance.
• Coordinate independent assurance, audits, inspections, risk workshops, and performance monitoring across projects and suppliers.
• Work collaboratively with project teams, partners, and authorities to prepare submissions, secure approvals, and deliver compliant safety plans and evidence.
• Build capability through inclusive leadership, coaching, and knowledge sharing, promoting accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Represent the program with key stakeholders and contribute to industry good practice, emerging trends, and sustainable delivery.
• Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during work delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required for this role.
• Demonstrated experience in leading safety assurance within complex programs.
• Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and supply-chain partners.
