Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Agile Consultants is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role focuses on designing electrical systems for water treatment plants, firefighting systems, and environmental service projects. The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for preparing comprehensive electrical designs and technical submittals, ensuring compliance with applicable technical standards and client-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and prepare electrical technical submittals, including Single Line Diagrams, Schematic Diagrams for Panels (MCC, MDB, SMDB, DB), Bills of Quantities (BOQs), Cable Sizing, Cable Lists, Load Schedules, Layouts, Lighting & Small Power, Earthing & Lightning, and Electrical Shop Drawings.
• Prepare all electrical test forms, such as Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), Megger Test, Continuity and Loop Test, Functional Test, and Earthing Test.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, instrumentation, automation, and drafting teams to develop integrated electrical designs.
• Provide support to the Proposal, Production, and Operations teams as needed.
• Send Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to suppliers for electrical work, and manage supplier coordination, negotiations, and technical meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5–10+ years of experience in electrical design and preparing technical submittals for industrial applications.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other electrical design tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical components, including Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and power distribution panels.
• Excellent knowledge of UAE regulations and authority requirements, such as DEWA, DM, and ADDC.
• Proficiency in electrical testing procedures and test form preparation.
• Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, process, and automation.
• Experience in water/wastewater projects or similar industrial applications is preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
