Engagement Manager Prototyping AI and Customer Engineering PACE EMEA

About the Role

AWS EMEA SARL (Saudi Arabia Branch) is seeking an Engagement Manager for Prototyping AI and Customer Engineering (PACE) in EMEA. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and focuses on helping enterprises in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC region transform ambitious ideas into functional technology proof points on AWS. The role involves working at the intersection of business strategy and emerging technology, identifying opportunities where generative AI, agentic systems, and cloud-native architectures can deliver significant customer value.

Role Responsibilities

• Build and manage a pipeline of innovation opportunities across KSA and the GCC, collaborating with account teams, specialists, and partners to identify areas where generative AI and cloud-native architecture can provide value.
• Rigorously qualify engagements by assessing business outcomes, customer commitment, and paths to production, allocating resources effectively.
• Scope engagements by defining clear, time-boxed prototypes with specific success criteria, working backward from customer outcomes.
• Drive engagements from initiation to completion, coordinating customer developers, AWS architects, and partners, mitigating risks, and ensuring demonstrated value and clear next steps.
• Advise senior leaders, assisting executives in navigating technology shifts and making informed investment decisions.
• Scale successful approaches by documenting repeatable patterns and sharing them within the global PACE community.
• Represent customer insights internally, providing feedback to AWS service teams and contributing to product roadmaps.

A Day in the Life

A typical day involves participating in stand-up meetings to unblock customer engineering teams on generative AI prototypes. Mid-morning might include scoping a new engagement with a Saudi enterprise exploring agentic AI. Afternoons are often spent reviewing the pipeline, updating qualifications, and planning resources with a Prototyping Architect. The role also includes meetings with customer CTOs to discuss prototype results and paths to production, concluding with documenting repeatable patterns for the wider PACE team.

The PACE Team

The Prototyping AI and Customer Engineering (PACE) team is AWS's hands-on customer innovation unit. The team collaborates directly with enterprise customers to develop prototypes that mitigate transformation risks and accelerate technology adoption. This role operates within the EMEA PACE structure, supporting customers across KSA and the GCC, and is part of a global community that shares best practices, tools, and lessons learned. The model pairs Engagement Managers, who define opportunities, with Prototyping Architects, who shape the technology, to deliver tangible solutions.

Experience and Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in engagement management, business strategy, or emerging technology.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and make decisions in rapidly evolving technology landscapes.
• Experience working with C-suite and technical leaders.
• Demonstrated ability to work backwards from customer outcomes and maintain high standards in project scoping and delivery.
