The Role of Frontend Developer & Designer

Hatch is seeking a Frontend Developer & Designer to join the Product Development team within its Digital Practice in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is suitable for a creative individual with 5-10 years of experience who aims to deliver digital products in an evolving industry. The position focuses on identifying, designing, building, and productizing Hatch's subject matter expertise within the Digital Products group. The successful candidate will work alongside existing senior designers and a product manager to support and accelerate an established product team.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end product design work, including interaction design, visual design, prototyping, design QA, and handoff, in collaboration with senior designers.
• Extend existing design work, understanding the intent and constraints behind established patterns, and translating this into new, consistent design.
• Partner with senior designers and the product manager to produce design artifacts at the required cadence and fidelity for an AI-augmented development team.
• Utilize AI-assisted design and prototyping tools as a core part of the daily workflow to reduce the time from idea to clickable artifact and merged UI.
• Contribute UI directly to the React (TypeScript) codebase as front-end development capabilities grow, starting with component-level work and design-system contributions.
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the product design system, making established patterns explicit for consumption by developers and AI tooling.
• Collaborate with product management to refine acceptance criteria, validate user needs, and ensure design intent is maintained in the shipped product.
• Emphasize collaboration and communication within and outside the team to improve product delivery processes.
• Communicate open items, trade-offs, and risks to senior designers, product management, and leadership.
• Stay informed about developments in design tooling, AI-assisted design, and front-end UI practices.
• Work effectively in a team environment with shared design files and code, maintaining disciplined use of version control, design-file hygiene, and process documentation.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Deep UX foundations and demonstrated fluency in AI-assisted design workflows.
• A clear and active trajectory into front-end development.
• Exceptional communication skills and a strong design point of view.
• Ability to interpret and extend the work of other designers.
