FSTD Technical Specialist

About the Role

CAE Inc. is seeking an FSTD Technical Specialist to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time, hands-on role involves maintaining cutting-edge flight training technology at Riyadh Air’s new training centre. The specialist will be responsible for software configuration control, diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, and contributing to simulator performance and certification activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for complex software, hardware, and performance (QTG) issues related to Flight Simulator Training Devices and Cabin Crew Training Devices.
• Lead and provide technical support and on-the-job training to fellow engineers and technicians.
• Manage software configuration control across all training devices.
• Debug, identify, and actively participate in resolving complex software, hardware, and performance (QTG) issues.
• Develop, implement, test, integrate, and present fixes (local and/or from CAE-MTL) on all simulators.
• Monitor simulator issues and action/update assigned tasks.
• Participate in project reviews, ensuring system design and architecture meet project and customer requirements.
• Support the CAE-MTL team during installation, focusing on software integration, performance (QTG), and hardware requirements.
• Potentially be involved in the acceptance process, including the review and acceptance of the initial Master QTG.
• Act as the main point of contact for relevant authorities regarding recurrent evaluations, post-evaluation status reports, and general authority communications, as applicable.
• Participate in regular technical meetings, NAA evaluation debrief meetings, and SLA review meetings with CAE management and/or customers.
• Interact and collaborate with customers, engineers, and authorities.
• Coordinate with CAE Customer Service to follow up on business-critical issues.
• Support Service Level Agreements within the Middle East Region, with potential for international travel.
• Comply with local and global CAE Environmental Health & Safety standards, instructions, and safe working procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant technical role.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex software and hardware issues.
• Experience with software configuration control.
• Familiarity with flight simulation software and integrated systems is preferred.
