Salt is recruiting for a GCP Cloud Architect to join our client, a global leader in AI-powered, automation-driven, application-centric managed services and cloud infrastructure. The Role: GCP Cloud Architect

The GCP Cloud Architect will be a technically strong, customer-facing professional responsible for defining, governing, and delivering enterprise-grade cloud solutions. This role requires balancing business requirements, security/compliance expectations, operational practicality, and delivery timelines while guiding both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The selected candidate will support ongoing and upcoming customer projects, focusing on Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end cloud solution architecture for assigned customer engagements.
  • Design secure, scalable, and highly available Azure/GCP architectures, including landing zones, subscription/project structures, networking, identity, security, monitoring, and governance.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into architecture decisions, High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), reference designs, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Lead design discussions for migration, modernization, hybrid cloud, multi-cloud integration, backup, disaster recovery, and resilience.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to validate build approaches, review technical configurations, and support issue/risk resolution.
  • Ensure architectures align with enterprise security, compliance, and operational standards, particularly for banking and regulated customers.
  • Support technical workshops, customer presentations, architecture walkthroughs, and steering discussions.
  • Contribute to effort estimates, technical proposals, Bill of Materials (BoM) inputs, design assumptions, and solution dependencies as required.
  • Guide automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption using appropriate tools and reusable patterns.
  • Mentor engineers/architects and help establish repeatable cloud architecture best practices.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in cloud architecture.
  • Strong architecture expertise in Azure and/or GCP, aligned to the assigned vacancy.
  • For the GCP track: strong knowledge of organization/project structure, IAM, VPC/Shared VPC, firewalling, VPN/Interconnect concepts, Private Service Connect concepts, Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, load balancing, logging/monitoring, backup, and resilience.
  • Proven capability in high-level and low-level design documentation.
  • Experience with cloud governance, security baseline design, High Availability (HA)/Disaster Recovery (DR), Recovery Time Objective (RTO)/Recovery Point Objective (RPO)-driven architecture, and operational handover.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation patterns using Terraform, Bicep/ARM, scripts, and CI/CD principles.
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer communication skills.

Location and Compensation

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The salary offered for this role is SAR 25,000 – SAR 45,000 Per Month. Candidates must currently be based in Saudi Arabia with a transferable Iqama.
