About the Role

Parsons is seeking a GIS Specialist to join the team for the Qiddiya Project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position requiring 5-10 years of experience. The GIS Specialist will manage Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to support the planning, design, construction, and handover phases of Qiddiya’s assets.

Role Context and Responsibilities

The GIS Specialist will utilize ESRI-based platforms to provide geospatial insights across Districts, Zones, and Precincts, ensuring data integration and adherence to project standards. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and compliance with Client systems such as ESRI GIS and Aconex.

  • Operate and manage the ESRI GIS platform, implementing policies, templates, and procedures for geospatial data standardization.
  • Review and integrate consultant/contractor GIS submittals into the Client’s GIS platform, ensuring compliance and interoperability with BIM and CAD.
  • Conduct spatial analyses, including modeling and geostatistics, and create maps/dashboards using ArcGIS Online/Enterprise to support decision-making.
  • Validate GIS data accuracy, maintain metadata, and document workflows in Aconex, aligning with Qiddiya’s standards.
  • Coordinate with delivery partners, design consultants, and stakeholders (*, Saudi Heritage Commission) for GIS-related permitting and interface management.
  • Provide GIS deliverables for master planning, regulatory approvals (*, CSP), and handover, supporting the Integrated Master Programme.
  • Align GIS workflows with other delivery partners’ systems and propose enhancements to tools like Fuzor or Autodesk Vault as needed.
  • Guide GIS technicians and train Client staff/contractors on GIS best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in GIS.
  • Proficiency in ESRI-based GIS platforms.
  • Experience with data integration, spatial analysis, and quality assurance in GIS.
  • Familiarity with BIM and CAD interoperability.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Work Environment and Project Context

This role is based on-site at the Qiddiya Project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and may require relocation. The project is a key component of Saudi Vision 2030. The position is subject to Saudization requirements.
