About the Opportunity

Uplift People Consulting is partnering with a fast-growing, SAMA-regulated open finance provider in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to appoint a Head of Risk. This full-time role requires a seasoned professional with 5-10 years of experience in risk management, specifically within the fintech sector. The successful candidate will lead and further develop the client's established risk management function.

Role Context and Strategic Focus

This is a hands-on individual contributor position focused on strengthening and refining an existing Enterprise Risk Management structure in Saudi Arabia. The Head of Risk will take ownership of the framework and elevate its effectiveness, working closely with senior management, compliance, business, and technology teams. The objective is to ensure continuous regulatory readiness, providing clarity, structure, and confidence without introducing bureaucracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the existing Risk Management Framework.
• Own and continuously improve the Risk Register.
• Refine and monitor the Risk Appetite Statement and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
• Oversee operational, technology, and third-party risks.
• Conduct risk assessments for new initiatives and product changes.
• Prepare structured, defensible risk reports for senior management.
• Support regulatory engagement with the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
• Ensure risk governance remains practical, proportionate, and effective.

Candidate Profile and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of dedicated experience in risk management, preferably within the fintech or financial services sector, with a strong understanding of SAMA regulations. This role requires a disciplined and credible risk leader capable of strengthening, refining, and defending an established risk management framework. Demonstrated ability to operate as a hands-on individual contributor and collaborate effectively with diverse teams is essential.
