Head of Supply Chain Management

About the Role

Options Executive Search is seeking a Head – Supply Chain Management (Power Transmission & Distribution) for its client, a global EPC leader in power transmission and distribution. This full-time, on-site role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The position involves leading procurement across approximately 25 countries and managing about 150 live projects, with an annual spend of around USD 3 billion. This is a strategic leadership position that reports directly to the business head.

Role Context

Procurement is a significant factor in driving project margins, delivery timelines, and early completion within this business. The Head of Supply Chain Management will be responsible for setting and executing the procurement strategy to align with business goals, project margins, and delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the procurement strategy and ensure its alignment with business goals, project margins, and delivery schedules.
• Lead sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and contract closure for critical components such as towers, conductors, transformers, GIS/AIS, cables, insulators, and EPC packages.
• Oversee supplier approval decisions and identify and develop new suppliers.
• Build and maintain relationships with OEMs and strategic suppliers.
• Drive cost optimisation and value engineering across a large multi-country portfolio.
• Identify supply chain risks early and implement measures to protect project execution.
• Collaborate closely with leadership in Projects, Engineering, Contracts, and Finance.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of 20 to 30 professionals across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and India.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in supply chain management, particularly within power transmission and distribution.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic procurement leadership.
