Healthcare Nutrition Specialist

About the Role

Danone MENA is seeking a Healthcare Nutrition Specialist (medical representative) to join their team. This permanent position is based in Riyadh, Al Qassim, and Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on driving and contributing to the Specialized Nutrition (SN) brand's market share within the assigned area by building scientific-based relationships with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct periodical visits to HCPs in hospitals, health clinics, and private clinics to establish strong scientific relationships.
• Position Healthcare Nutrition solutions as preferred options and SN as a company of choice for HCPs.
• Present scientific-based arguments to convince HCPs to choose Danone's solutions.
• Ensure HCPs and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) receive accurate information, messages, and clinical studies.
• Illustrate the benefits of Danone's solutions to HCPs and conduct scientific audio/visual meetings.
• Identify business opportunities within the assigned area and develop initiatives to realize potential.
• Implement weekly call cycles in coordination with the direct manager.
• Monitor competitive activities and recommend counteractions to protect market position.
• Maintain a high level of product knowledge to explain product information and answer HCP queries.
• Follow up on customer queries and complaints.
• Review business plans quarterly with the Head of KSA in line with cycle objectives.
• Compile and submit reports on promotional activities according to established formats and schedules.
• Ensure all business practices comply with WHO and local government codes of ethics for infant formula products.
• Conduct seminars and detailing nutrition education activities.
• Manage daily databases and ensure compliance with administrative procedures.
• Achieve qualitative and quantitative Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the assigned area.

Team Collaboration and Market Intelligence

• Participate in daily or weekly meetings to discuss market situations, challenges, and appraise activities against monthly KPIs.
• Assist in running seminars and events.
• Collect intelligence on the HCP universe, including identifying new contacts.
• Monitor and report on competitor activities, including consumer offers, medical conferences, and round tables.
• Conduct face-to-face medical detailing calls and maintain ongoing contact with identified HCPs across the defined geographical area.
• Build strong relationships with targeted HCPs and map decision-making networks in the region.
• Carry out promotional activities with targeted HCPs.
• Update competitor intelligence and input data into the database.
• Record and report on call visits and progress against set objectives.
• Attend and participate in internal meetings as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within the healthcare or nutrition sector. A strong understanding of scientific-based communication and relationship building with healthcare professionals is essential.
