IT Infrastructure and Disaster Recovery Specialist at HCLTech

HCLTech is seeking an IT Infrastructure and Disaster Recovery (DR) Specialist to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position, and candidates must be Saudi nationals only. The role requires hands-on expertise in Infrastructure and Disaster Recovery, covering end-to-end configuration, workflow design, implementation, and ongoing support.

Role Purpose and Scope

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the resilience and recovery capabilities of critical IT infrastructure. The specialist will be instrumental in managing, coordinating, and continuously improving DR processes and tools within a diverse, heterogeneous environment. This position demands a strong understanding of business continuity principles and the ability to translate these into practical, effective IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement scripts for various automation tasks.
• Administer IBM Recovery Orchestration (RO) tools.
• Provide end-to-end support for IBM RO tool delivery.
• Monitor the RO tool daily for alerts and disruptions, driving issues to resolution.
• Proactively investigate system shortfalls and work on improvements for the RO tool.
• Coordinate with different teams for DR activities and automation implementation.
• Determine adequate test environment drill and test plan requirements.
• Coordinate with various technology teams to develop drill test environments and Test Evaluation Summaries across heterogeneous infrastructure layers.
• Manage drill execution coordination, including incident and issue tracking during drills.
• Collect, analyze, and report recovery testing data, providing recommendations for performance improvements.
• Improve reporting across systems.
• Ensure the documentation and recording of respective evidences.

Required Skills and Experience

Candidates should possess 0-1 years of work experience in IT infrastructure.

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Strong understanding of network protocols.
• Good domain knowledge in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
• Experience in automating Drill failover management.
• Capability to build custom workflows and expertise in building customized reports.
• Experience with heterogeneous environment support.
• Ability to simplify and accelerate DR processes.
• Potential for handling multiple tasks effectively and meeting deadlines.
• Familiarity with tools that enable DR replication and automation.
• Fair understanding of the Recovery & Resilience management life cycle.

Technical Knowledge

• Good knowledge of IT infrastructure, Network, Windows, Linux, and Unix systems.
• Good knowledge in requirement gathering and business process analysis.
• Ability to address resiliency at a business process level.
• Awareness of Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) concepts.
