Disaster Recovery Expert

About the Role

TawanTech is seeking a Disaster Recovery Expert to join our team in Riyadh, Riyadh Province. This full-time role involves leading and overseeing Disaster Recovery, IT Resilience, and Business Continuity activities, with a specific focus on critical banking systems and technology services. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience, including mandatory experience within the banking or financial services sector, and will preferably have prior experience in a Lead or Supervisor capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies, plans, procedures, and recovery runbooks.
• Define and maintain Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) for critical systems.
• Lead DR drills, simulations, failover/failback processes, and recovery testing.
• Coordinate DR activities with infrastructure, network, cybersecurity, application, database, cloud, and business teams.
• Ensure DR environments, backup, replication, High Availability (HA), and recovery capabilities are operational and compliant.
• Conduct risk assessments, Business Impact Analysis (BIA), and root-cause analysis for DR-related issues.
• Ensure alignment with banking regulations, audit requirements, and IT governance standards.
• Manage DR vendors and provide regular readiness and risk reports to management.
• Lead and mentor DR and technical teams.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Disaster Recovery, IT Resilience, or Business Continuity.
• Mandatory experience within the banking or financial services industry.
• Previous experience in a Lead or Supervisor role is preferred.
