About the Role

Skilled Careers is partnering with a leading construction company in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to appoint a Joinery Factory General Manager. This full-time leadership position is crucial for a specialist joinery factory that primarily serves internal contracting requirements but is now expanding to pursue external projects. The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the factory’s operations, focusing on production efficiency, financial performance, and customer satisfaction. The role demands a strategic leader with strong operational expertise, committed to innovation and quality, to drive business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the factory’s strategic direction, aligning short- and long-term objectives with the company’s broader vision and growth plans.
• Manage day-to-day factory operations, ensuring consistent achievement of production targets, quality standards, delivery schedules, and financial objectives through effective resource planning.
• Establish, implement, and continuously improve processes, systems, and procedures to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and support the factory’s transition into a commercially driven operation.
• Lead quality assurance and control across all production activities, ensuring products meet specifications and industry standards, and maintain a strong culture of health, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee the factory’s financial performance, including budgeting, capital expenditure, cost management, and profitability, identifying opportunities to improve margins and optimize resources.
• Drive the factory’s expansion into external markets by identifying new opportunities, developing client relationships, and positioning the business for third-party projects.
• Build and lead a high-performing management and operational team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement through appropriate training and development.
• Collaborate with internal and external marketing teams to enhance the factory’s brand presence and promote its bespoke joinery services.
• Implement advanced manufacturing technologies such as CNC machining and 3D modeling, and foster innovation to improve efficiency and quality, staying current with industry trends.
• Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers, designers, and industry leaders to expand capabilities and market reach.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of senior management experience within manufacturing, production, or factory operations, ideally in bespoke joinery, fit-out, or a related construction manufacturing environment.
• Proven GCC experience with a strong understanding of the regional construction and contracting market.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic.
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale production and operational teams, with a track record of improving productivity and overall performance.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including responsibility for budgets, P&L, capital expenditure, cost control, and financial planning.
• Proven ability to develop and execute business strategies, with experience in expanding operations and identifying new commercial opportunities.
