About the Opportunity

WSP Middle East is seeking a Landscape/Hardscape Inspector to join our team in Riyadh, KSA. This full-time position is critical for a significant Roads and Highway infrastructure project, focusing on the on-site supervision of all soft and hard landscaping elements. The role requires a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Role Purpose and Scope

The primary purpose of this role is to meticulously oversee the execution of landscaping works, ensuring strict adherence to approved plans, specifications, and safety protocols. The Inspector will serve as a key point of contact for contractors and project engineers, contributing to the successful delivery of the project's aesthetic and functional elements. This position demands thorough knowledge of regional flora and landscaping practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure the Contractor’s works strictly comply with approved plans, drawings, specifications, and health/safety & environmental plans.
• Maintain a detailed diary of daily work activities, issues, approved or rejected works, hours of operation, labor, and equipment used.
• Process the Contractor’s inspection requests and maintain records of their status.
• Maintain records of completed works for interim and final payment and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate daily with the Contractor’s site engineer/foreman on site and inspect work execution, following best practices.
• Report Contractor’s questionable methods of operation or workmanship and any failure to conform to plans and specifications to the Assistant Resident Engineer / Resident Engineer.
• Notify the Reporting Manager of conditions that render it impractical or unreasonable to enforce the specifications, if any.
• Coordinate with Surveyors to check the line and grade of completed work for conformance with the plans and specifications.
• Interface with stakeholders and the public, especially residents and business owners adjacent to the work, to mitigate construction impacts.

Qualifications and Expertise

• Over 12 years of experience in landscape inspection, preferably within large-scale infrastructure or roads and highway projects.
• Thorough knowledge of Middle East region trees, plants, and shrubs species.
• Expertise in planting and horticulture maintenance practices.
• Strong understanding of irrigation systems and other softscape/hardscape features.
