Job Description
About Noon Academy and the Role
Noon Academy is a prominent edtech platform in the Middle East, serving over 12 million students and teachers. The company is dedicated to transforming the traditional classroom experience through engaging social, group-based learning and AI, aiming to provide access to high-quality teachers for every student. Currently, Noon Academy is focused on reinventing schools in Saudi Arabia by operating hybrid classrooms where a remote lead teacher conducts sessions, supported by an in-room facilitator in a physical classroom setting.
This full-time academic role is for a Learning Experience Head Teacher specializing in Math & Physics for the National Curriculum track, based in Riyadh. It is designed for an experienced educator with a minimum of 10 years of teaching experience, who has also coached other teachers. The role focuses on curriculum development, quality assurance, teacher coaching, and direct teaching, rather than management, to ensure effective learning outcomes for thousands of students daily.
Key Responsibilities
The Head Teacher's responsibilities are divided across the following areas:
- Curriculum & Term Planning (50%): Collaborate with the design team to define the curriculum, including topics, weighting, and overall term/year plans. This includes reviewing final lessons before production, serving as the ultimate academic gatekeeper.
- Coaching Delivery Teachers (30%): Provide observation, feedback, and follow-up to teachers on content delivery, management of hybrid classrooms, and student engagement within a digital environment.
- Delivering Lessons (20%): Conduct teaching sessions directly to maintain connection with the content, observe its practical impact, and gather direct student feedback.
Areas of Ownership
The individual in this role will be responsible for:
- The academic quality of the Math & Physics curriculum for Middle School and High School on the National track, encompassing topic sequencing, weighting, depth, and alignment to assessments.
- Term and year plans, developed in collaboration with Design Leads and requiring final sign-off.
- The final review of constructed lessons before they are deployed to students.
- The coaching and development of the delivery teaching team for assigned subjects, in partnership with the Learning Excellence department.
- Translating assessment data, including diagnostics, exit tickets, end-of-chapter results, and learning gain, into actionable curriculum adjustments for subsequent terms.
- Serving as the academic authority in cross-functional discussions with Design, Learning Excellence, Product, and Data teams.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of direct classroom teaching experience, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge across both middle school and high school levels.
- 3–5 years of experience managing or coaching other teachers, such as a head of department, subject lead, mentor, or in a formal coaching capacity.
- Familiarity with Saudi national assessments, including Qudurat, Tahsili, and Nafes.
- Strong digital proficiency and comfort with teaching in a digital environment, suitable for a hybrid classroom delivered through a platform.
- Fluency in Arabic and professional proficiency in English.
- Current residence in Riyadh or willingness to relocate to Riyadh.
Preferred Qualifications
- A coaching certification or completion of a formal teacher training program.
- Experience with international curricula beyond the local curriculum.
- Familiarity with international assessment frameworks such as PISA, TIMSS, and PIRLS, and their implications for teaching.
- Experience utilizing AI in teaching practices or curriculum development.
- Prior experience with hybrid, blended, or remote instruction models.
Impact of the Role
This role offers the opportunity to significantly influence educational outcomes and pedagogical approaches:
- Your curriculum decisions will directly impact thousands of students daily across all Noon Academy schools.
- You will hold direct academic authority, serving as the final approver for educational content.
- Contribute to shaping the pedagogical framework for hybrid teaching models within Saudi Arabia.
- Utilize data from diagnostics, exit tickets, and learning gain to observe the direct impact of your academic decisions.
