Logistics Operations Manager

About the Role

AlKhalejiah is seeking a Logistics & Fleet Operations Manager to lead end-to-end logistics operations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role primarily focuses on transportation, distribution, and fleet management, with additional oversight of warehousing and inventory operations. The manager will ensure reliable food logistics services through effective operational systems, cost control, resource planning, and continuous performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily transportation and distribution, including route planning, delivery schedules, vehicle allocation, and capacity based on demand.
• Oversee fleet availability, preventive maintenance, repairs, and vehicle replacement planning, while monitoring fuel consumption, mileage, downtime, and driver productivity.
• Manage third-party transport providers, monitoring service quality, cost, and contractual performance.
• Lead the effective use and improvement of ERP, TMS, WMS, and fleet tracking platforms, ensuring accurate operational data and improving workflows with Finance and IT.
• Prepare and manage budgets for transportation, fleet, distribution, and warehousing, analyzing costs and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Control fuel, maintenance, manpower, subcontractor, and warehouse operating costs, reviewing budget variances and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure appropriate handling, storage, and transportation of food products, including chilled and frozen goods, maintaining temperature controls, hygiene standards, and product traceability.
• Oversee receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, and inventory control activities, ensuring inventory accuracy through stock counts and reconciliations.
• Lead transport, fleet, distribution, and warehouse teams, establishing clear responsibilities and performance targets.
• Monitor KPIs covering delivery timeliness, fleet utilization, operating costs, inventory accuracy, and product losses, presenting regular performance reports to management.

Operational Systems and Data Management

The role involves leading the effective use and improvement of critical operational systems such as ERP, Transport Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and fleet tracking platforms. This includes ensuring accurate operational data across all records, collaborating with Finance, IT, and system providers to enhance workflows and reporting, and establishing dashboards for performance visibility. Training teams on system usage and enforcing consistent operational processes are also key aspects.

Food Logistics and Cold Chain Management

A critical component of this role is ensuring the appropriate handling, storage, and transportation of food products, including chilled and frozen goods. This involves maintaining strict temperature controls, hygiene standards, product traceability, and cold chain integrity. The manager will monitor temperature records, address deviations, and coordinate with Quality teams to uphold food safety standards throughout the storage and distribution processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in logistics and fleet operations management.
• Proven experience in managing transportation, distribution, and warehousing.
• Familiarity with ERP, TMS, WMS, and fleet tracking platforms.
• Strong understanding of cost control and operational efficiency principles.
• Experience in food logistics and cold chain management is essential.
• Demonstrated leadership and performance management skills.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires coordination with various internal teams, external stakeholders, and third-party providers to ensure seamless logistics operations and high service levels.
