About the Material Planner Role at Deemah

Deemah is seeking a Material Planner to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role requires 2-5 years of experience and is responsible for ensuring the continuous availability of raw and packaging materials essential for production. The Material Planner will focus on optimizing inventory levels while balancing material availability, inventory investment, supplier performance, and production requirements to support overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare short, medium, and long-term material requirements based on the production plan.
• Convert production plans into Raw Material (RM) and Packaging Material (PM) requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and excess stock, maintaining safety stock and reorder levels for all materials.
• Generate Purchase Requisitions (PRs) according to planning requirements and follow up Purchase Orders (POs) with the Purchasing Department.
• Monitor supplier delivery schedules, resolve supply delays, and coordinate with suppliers regarding delivery commitments.
• Optimize inventory while maintaining required service levels, monitoring slow-moving, obsolete, and excess inventory.
• Review material shelf life and expiry dates, recommending actions to reduce inventory carrying costs.
• Ensure material availability before production starts, identify material shortages, and communicate risks proactively.
• Support production rescheduling when materials are delayed and coordinate substitute materials when approved.

Planning, Analysis, and System Management

• Analyze material consumption trends and review forecast changes to assess material impact.
• Update planning parameters including Lead Time, MOQ, Safety Stock, Reorder Point, and Lot Size.
• Maintain accurate planning master data within the system.
• Manage material master data and execute MRP runs in ERP/SAP.
• Review MRP exception messages and validate planning parameters in SAP, ensuring system data accuracy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Reporting

The Material Planner will engage in close cross-functional coordination with various departments and external partners to ensure smooth operations. Regular reporting is a key aspect of this role, providing insights into material status and performance.

• Collaborate closely with Purchasing, Production Planning, Warehouse, Quality, R&D, Finance, and Suppliers.
• Prepare periodic reports including Material Availability, Material Shortage Report, Inventory Status, Supplier Delivery Performance, Slow Moving Inventory, Inventory Days of Supply (DOS), Purchase Order Tracking, and Material Risk Assessment.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a material planning role.
• Experience in the FMCG sector is preferred.
• Proficiency with SAP ERP (PP/MM modules) is highly preferred.
