Mechanical Senior Engineer

About the Role

SSCL is seeking a Mechanical Senior Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Riyadh. This full-time position involves leading and managing mechanical engineering activities across the entire project lifecycle, from initial design and technical development through to procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover. The role requires strong technical expertise and project coordination skills to ensure mechanical systems are designed and executed in compliance with applicable standards, specifications, safety, quality requirements, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering design and technical activities for assigned projects.
• Review mechanical calculations, drawings, specifications, equipment selections, and technical documentation.
• Develop and review mechanical systems, layouts, equipment specifications, and engineering deliverables.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable international standards, codes, local regulations, and project specifications.
• Identify design issues, technical risks, and opportunities for optimization.
• Provide engineering solutions to complex technical and site-related problems.
• Coordinate mechanical engineering activities with civil, electrical, architectural, instrumentation, and other disciplines.
• Monitor engineering progress against project schedules and deliverables.
• Support procurement activities through preparation and review of technical specifications, RFQs, vendor documents, and technical evaluations.
• Review and approve vendor drawings, material submittals, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical support during installation, inspection, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Conduct site inspections and verify that mechanical works are executed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Lead and mentor junior and intermediate mechanical engineers.
• Review engineering deliverables and provide technical guidance to the engineering team.
• Participate in design reviews and technical meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering roles.
• Demonstrated strong technical expertise in mechanical systems design and execution.
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate engineering activities throughout project lifecycles.
• Experience ensuring compliance with international standards, codes, and local regulations.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, requiring engagement across various project phases, including site inspections and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
