About the Merchandiser Role

Apparel Group is seeking a Merchandiser to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position designed for individuals with 0-1 years of experience, offering an opportunity to contribute to product and assortment strategies within a dynamic retail environment.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Merchandiser plays a crucial role in supporting the Brand Manager to develop and execute product and assortment strategies designed to meet or exceed financial goals. This involves coordinating all activities related to the allocation and timely delivery of merchandise to stores across the region, ensuring operational efficiency and product availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with stores, logistics, and warehouse departments to ensure product supply effectively meets demand.
  • Ensure a balanced collection of products is maintained at stores, facilitating regular replenishment from the warehouse and managing inter-store transfers.
  • Optimize the volume and profitability of various product categories.
  • Gather and analyze information related to customer reactions and feedback on products.
  • Coordinate with the buying team on product-related issues, including orders, repeats, and damages, and assist in range planning, sales analysis, and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare merchandise plans and other necessary information for product range presentations and reviews for buyers and the Brand Manager.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Prepare various retail reports, including Retail Pro reports, Sell Thru reports, consolidation sheets, and product breakdown reports.
  • Analyze all aspects of best and worst-selling products, such as price points, colors, or styles.
  • Conduct analysis of previous season's sales and report on the performance of current season's lines.
  • Assist in pre-season financial planning, in-season projections, open-to-buy management, and new store budgets.
  • Report on competitors' offerings and analyze potential opportunities for the Brand team.
  • Manage the processing of various retail pro reports and invoices.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of all necessary reports and records, maintaining strict confidentiality of all entrusted documents.

Collaboration and Strategic Support

The Merchandiser will work closely with the Merchandise Planning team on product range development and planning. This collaboration aims to maximize commercial opportunities for products and ensure the right product mix at the sub-category and price point levels within the business.
