The Role: Microsoft System Administrator

Alsalam Aerospace Industries is seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Microsoft System Administrator to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience and strong Microsoft infrastructure expertise. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support of enterprise Microsoft environments, taking ownership of Microsoft infrastructure operations, secure identity services, and messaging platforms.

Core Responsibilities

The Microsoft System Administrator will manage and support critical enterprise systems, including:

  • Designing, implementing, administering, and supporting Microsoft Active Directory services, including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, domain controllers, sites and services, and failover clustering.
  • Deploying, configuring, and maintaining Windows Server environments across physical and virtual infrastructure, monitoring health, performance, availability, and capacity.
  • Configuring and maintaining Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Azure AD Connect, Single Sign-On solutions, and Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).
  • Administering Microsoft Exchange Server environments, managing Database Availability Groups, mail flow, connectors, mailbox policies, and hybrid deployments.
  • Managing Microsoft 365 services, licensing, user administration, and service configuration, ensuring messaging availability, security, and compliance.
  • Managing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Certificate Authority services, including issuing, renewing, revoking, and monitoring certificates.
  • Managing Hyper-V and VMware virtualization platforms, supporting high-availability clusters, virtual machines, and storage connectivity.
  • Administering and supporting endpoint and enterprise mobility management solutions such as Ivanti EPMM, MobileIron, and VMware Workspace ONE (AirWatch).
  • Performing PowerShell automation for system administration tasks and supporting incident, problem, and change management activities.
  • Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, operational procedures, and configuration records.

Required Technical Expertise

The ideal candidate will possess deep technical experience in the following areas:

  • Microsoft Core Infrastructure: Active Directory, Windows Server, Exchange Server, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, ADFS.
  • Identity & Access Management: RBAC, identity management, identity governance solutions, Privileged Access Management, secure administrative access models.
  • Messaging & Collaboration: Exchange Server, Microsoft 365 services, mail flow, security, and compliance.
  • Security & Authentication: Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Certificate Authority services, certificate-based authentication.
  • Virtualization: Hyper-V, VMware, and potentially Nutanix or similar hyperconverged infrastructure platforms.
  • Endpoint & Mobility: Ivanti EPMM, MobileIron, VMware Workspace ONE (AirWatch), device enrollment, compliance policies, app distribution for iOS and Android.
  • Automation: PowerShell scripting and automation of operational activities.

Collaboration and Operational Support

This role involves close collaboration with cybersecurity, network, application, and service desk teams to ensure reliable and secure enterprise services. The administrator will coordinate with vendors and managed service providers for support, escalation, and implementation activities. Participation in infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, and service improvements is expected, alongside supporting audits, compliance reviews, and security assessments.
